Post Op Checks

TLC is vital for anyone following an operation and this applies to pets too so, at Downslink, we are on hand to offer everything an animal may need for their post-op treatment. This means that we will detect any infections that may develop as soon as they occur. We will also monitor their recovery from the anaesthetic as well as keeping a check on their nutrition levels when they need their strength the most. We understand that owners need TLC too as it can be a worrying time for you so we are happy to provide you with extra support and answer any of your questions.

Weight Clinics

Everyone knows that weight can be a tricky issue and the same applies to your pets, which is why we run weight clinics. This enables us to keep a close eye on your pet's weight ensuring that we pick up on any dramatic changes, which could be an indication of illness. We will also be able to answer any questions you may have regarding your pet's diet. Every animal is different so we tailor every appointment to your pet.

Senior Pet Clinics

As pets start to reach old age, it can be a concerning time for many owners but we are here to help. Cats and dogs are classified as seniors from around 8 to 9 years old and it is vital that they receive the proper care in order for them to continue a happy and healthy life. Our clinic allows us to catch any diseases common in older pets as soon as they show signs of developing, meaning that we can administer treatment effectively. We will also come up with a specific treatment plan for your pet as well as giving you, the owner, useful tips to make your pet comfortable at home.

Dental Clinics

Animals' teeth are just as sensitive to decay as humans, which is why we like to keep an extra close eye on those naughty nashers. We offer dental check-ups for dogs over 3 years of age and cats over 5 years. By having regular appointments, we can detect gum disease as soon as it begins to develop. Keeping on top of teeth means that your pet's dentals will be just dazzling!

Diabetic Clinics

Diabetic clinics enable us to monitor pets who have diabetes as well being able to give advice on how best to control the disease. Sessions are run every Thursday and Friday and we are happy to answer any questions that you have.

Worming and flea treatment

Worms and fleas can be a real pain for pet owners but here at Downslink, we offer a range of advice to help owners keep up-to-date with all of these treatments. Once we have settled on the best course for your pet, we can book you in and wave goodbye to worms and fleas.

Juvenile clinics

It is a known fact that puppies and kittens need a bit of extra attention. It is important to keep on top of everything when they are young and this can be quite daunting for you, the owner. Don't panic as help is at hand! We offer 6 monthly check-ups for the little ones, allowing us to monitor their developments, for example teeth and weight. You can also use the time to ask us any questions on looking after a young animal at home.

Fireworks can be a real pest for pet owners. We understand how difficult it can be to keep animals, particularly dogs, calm during the displays. There are lots of calming techniques available and we are on hand to suggest the best one for your pet. Bonfire Night is the most popular time of year for fireworks but displays do take place all year round so it is a good idea to keep up treatments. Pop in to the surgery to have a chat with one of our nurses today.
